Genius Loci

This work is inspired by the meaning of “Genius Loci.” In classical Roman religion, “genius loci” is the protective spirit of a place; in its Western usage it refers to a location’s distinctive atmosphere, or a “spirit of the place,” not necessarily a guardian spirit. The film portrays the connection between a very old Plane Tree (Platanus) and a human, between performative and atmospheric elements, between existential sensations and behaviors.
